The first grant in the amount of $218,277 offered by the Government of Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) was received in 2004 by Eurasia Foundation Representative Office in Moldova (EFM), the predecessor organization of East Europe Foundation Moldova (EEF-M). The funds went for the support of “Democratic Election Process and Elections-Related Civic Engagement during 2005 Parliamentary Elections in Moldova” initiative. Read more...
East Europe Foundation Moldova initiated its cooperation with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) under the “Joint Equal Opportunity Initiative” Project in 2015. During the first phase of the project, the goal of the initiative was to improve the situation of most marginalized and vulnerable men and women in Moldova by mainstreaming equality into policy making by the Government and Parliament. Eurasia Foundation Moldova (the predecessor of East Europe Foundation - Moldova) received in 2008 a grant in the amount of EUR 140,000 from European Union for the project “Media Action for Voter Education” that encouraged active voter participation during 2009 Parliamentary Elections. The project involved 14 regional and local TV stations and eight regional and local newspapers. Read more...
East Europe Foundation Moldova initiated its cooperation with OAK Foundation under the “Moldova – Domestic Violence Response” project in 2018. The project fits under the EEF social inclusion of vulnerable groups strategic program. In 2019 East Europe Foundation consolidates its collaboration with OAK Foundation by signing another contract for supporting the project ”Homelessness Taskforce”. In its activity, OAK Foundation seeks to be inclusive, flexible and engage with different points of view. Read more...
East Europe Foundation Moldova initiated its cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark under the “Building Democratic Systems by Establishing East Europe Foundation in Moldova” project, 2010-2012. The initiative had three interconnected programs: Economic Development; Good Governance and Social Action. The Danish MFA provided $400,000 to support these activities. Read more...
United States Agency for International Development is the first donor to the East Europe Foundation Moldova (EEF-M), which supported the Foundation’s activities from its very inception. USAID has been providing financial resources to EEF-M through Eurasia Foundation, the sole founder of our organization. Eurasia Foundation started its activity in Moldova in 1993 by providing grants to universities, NGOs and other non-profit organizations out of its Regional Office Based in Kyiv. In 2014 FHI 360 offered FEE-M a grant to implement the project " Consolidation of Moldovan Societal Support for the European Integration ". The project “Consolidation of Moldovan societal support for the European Integration” seeks to strengthen popular support for the European integration process of Moldova. The action is a joint effort of project partners combining capacities and experiences in the field of promoting European Integration from all participating sides. Read more...
In 2010 the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor provided through Eurasia Foundation $570,000 to East Europe Foundation Moldova for the implementation of “Youth Participation in Moldova” program during 2010-2012. Read more...
In 2014 UN Women Moldova offered FEE-M a grant to implement the project " Enhancing Women’s Political Representation through improved capacity and enhanced support in Moldova ". The overall goal of the Project is to support the increased participation of women in politics and in the decision-making process by creating an environment conducive to their meaningful participation, and to support capacity development of women before, during and after the elections at the central and local levels. It will also seek to promote increased public awareness of women’s contribution to political leadership. Read more...
East Europe Foundation Moldova (EEF-M) conducts a series of activities to assist civil society in the fight against corruption. In this context, the United Nations Development Fund (UNDEF) is supporting the project “Civil Society to Monitor and Contribute to Transparency and Anti-Corruption Policies in Moldova”, which will be implemented by EEF-M during 2012-2014. In 2006, Eurasia Foundation Moldova (the predecessor of East Europe Foundation - Moldova) received from OSCE Mission to Moldova a grant in the amount of $24,000 to implement the project “Promoting Ethics in the Public Sector to Prevent Corruption in Moldova”. This initiative had the goal to promote ethical standards for the public sector and to assist the NGOs in fighting and preventing corruption in Moldova. Read more...
East Europe Foundation Moldova (EEF-M) received from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) a grant in the amount of $97,000 to implement the “Fostering Free and Fair Elections” project during 2010. The project was designed to educate citizens, mobilize voters, and monitor the polls for Moldova’s referendum and 2010 early parliamentary elections, thereby fostering free, fair and transparent elections in the country. The Eurasia Foundation Moldova, the predecessor organization of East Europe Foundation Moldova, received in 2008 financial support in the amount of $6,538 from Philip Morris International (PMI) to undertake the “Rural School Support” project, which ensured high quality public sport education for children from a rural school in Moldova. In the same year PMI funded the “Disaster relief and assistance for flood victims in Moldova” project in the amount of $74,435, with the goal to provide disaster relief for communities and inhabitants that suffered the most from the summer 2008 flooding in Moldova.
