The overall objective of the action is to contribute to fair and inclusive elections in Moldova, in compliance with recommendations of the EU, OSCE/ODIHR and human rights commitments of the country.
Using evidence-based analysis, the action will strengthen the dialogue with political parties to adopt internal procedures and practices conducive to inclusive participation, with specific focus on the inclusion of Roma and other ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and women. The project will strengthen the capacity of civil society and enable NGOs to monitor elections from the equality perspective and advocate with CEC, Ministry of Justice, MPs and members of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia the necessity to amend the electoral law in compliance with recommendations of the EU, OSCE/ODIHR and international and regional human rights law.
The Project is a joint effort of East Europe Foundation, Piligrim Demo, Union of Young Roma “Tarna Rom” and Center Partnership for Development, combining capacities and experience in the field of promoting inclusive and fair elections.
