Engaging Citizens, Empowering Communities 2021-2025

The project aims at strengthening the capacity of local organizations in using gender equality tools in their work. Efforts will be made to advance policy-influencing capacity of CSO networks representing Roma, older people, youth, persons with disabilities. To foster sustainability of the interventions, due attention will be paid to provision of training and on the job coaching in the area of financial management and fundraising.

One of the core activities within the project will be grants and technical assistance to civil society organizations. Jointly with its partners, East Europe Foundation will increase the advocacy and oversight capacities of NGOs and their networks working to advance democratic governance and sustainable local development. 

The project also seeks to empower and support vulnerable men and women, including persons with disabilities, Roma, older people, NEET (not in employment, education or training) Youth, to benefit from responsive policy-making and fulfilment of their human rights.

The project has two inter-related objectives:

  • Promotion of civil and political rights for democratic governance.
  • Promotion of social and economic rights for sustainable local development.

Implementation period: June 01, 2021 – December 31, 2025

Project budget: 51,995,757 SEK (5,077,711 EUR)
